Best Tips On Getting Pregnant
One of the most important components of getting pregnant is knowing when you should be having intercourse to enable you to get pregnant. There is a lot of misinformation on this topic. For one thing, you need to make sure you are having intercourse during your fertile window. That means the several days that are leading up to ovulation, and also the day after you ovulate. Assuming you have used one of the several methods to figure out when your fertile days are, you also need to know how often you should be having intercourse to increase your chances of conceiving.
One of the things that you might think is a good idea, actually is not a good idea at all. And that is, having as much sex as possible during those few days leading up to ovulation. It is not a good idea to have intercourse several times a day in an effort to increase your conception odds. In fact, this can have the opposite effect. There will not be enough good quality sperm if the male partner ejaculates several times a day over the course of a few days.
On the other extreme, it is also not a good idea to "save up the sperm" by waiting for the "fertile window" in hopes that you will then have alot of extra sperm to increase the chances of conceiving. This too, can have the opposite effect. The sperm supply needs to be flushed out to be kept fresh, so "saving it up" will cause a lot of sperm to be stale, and sluggish.
One of the best tips on getting pregnant is to have intercourse either every day or every other day starting several days before you actually ovulate. The every day approach is slightly more favorable, but only if you are certain there are no issues with sperm count. Since most couples starting out don't have this knowledge one way or another, it might be best to vary this by trying every other day one month and every day another month just so you have all your bases covered. This way, if the sperm quality/count is not the best, you'll be doing the more favorable every other day approach as well.
It's best if the man doesn't ejaculate for a few days before your "fertile window" which starts a few days before you ovulate.

I am not exactly sure when I ovulate. I have irregular periods and I am just now spotting since my last heathly period which was in March and now here it is January.
